SECURITY ONE, INC., is a Hawaii Corporation, owned and operated by Mary Paulson and Kerry Wasson since 1992. With a combined total of 30 years in the security industry, Mary and Kerry decided they could provide the very best in security equipment and services to the Hawaii customer. Mary Paulson
President and CEO
Mary started in security sales in Hawaii in 1980 as one of the few women in the industry at that time. Predictions were that she would not make it in this “inappropriate business for a woman.” She worked in sales and management for the larger security companies in Hawaii for 12 years before feeling she had the experience and expertise to open her own business. When not doing security sales and administration, Mary & her hubby Captain John sit on their lanai overlooking Honolulu and enjoy the company of their two pet chickens, Rev E. Lee and Amelia, Kramer, the fabulous talking mynah bird, Miss Tweet, the canary and hundreds of wild birds who loiter in the yard knowing that they will eventually be fed.
Kerry Wasson
Vice President, Operations Manager
Kerry has been installing security systems and other related products in Hawaii for over 20 years. He has worked in installation for major Hawaiian security companies and owned his own security business before becoming an owner of Security One, Inc. He is unique in our industry in Hawaii because he has a degree in electronics as well as many years of experience. He is a virtual electronics wizard at design and implementation of unusual applications. His mother claims when Kerry was a kid she always feared he would burn the house down with his electronic “experiments.” He has designed fully integrated, computer driven systems for estates and businesses as well as more common applications combining burglar/fire alarms with intercoms, cameras, etc. If you tell Kerry what you want, he will figure out how to do it. When Kerry is not overseeing our installation and service work he presides as the Minister of his own church, Abundant Life. He and his wife Judy have three wonderful and talented children.
